Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has a BA degree in English from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in the year 1967. In 1976, Mitchell joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). A few years later, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981, she began covering for the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the chief congressional correspondent. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992 and the chief foreign affairs correspondent for NBC News in 1994. Mitchell was a panelist on the TV show Meet the Press and also host of the show. She was part of the panel at the 1988 Presidential Debates, which featured George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan who was former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell reported on a variety of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran Contra scandal, fiscal tax reforms, and arms control.
