Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she won the Emmy Award. Her credits comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. As a young girl, she wanted to be a court-reporter. But in highschool the time came when she began modeling for commercials, and later after moving to New York. Her first job as an actor was as an innocent teenager in the show All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Delaney has not lived a good or satisfying personal life. There were two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with addiction issues. In 2005, her custody was taken away from her.
